The Pathfinder Note 3

Before I had the idea of putting out a solo piano record I was chatting to my good friend, the incredibly talented film director Ryan Coonan. We talked about my journey to rebuild myself from the inside out and how if you weren’t careful, it was very easy to become a passenger in life rather than taking control of your own destiny.

Then Ryan asked me if I’d be willing to let him craft a photo shoot that would explore these ideas through the lens of the camera. He warned me I’d need to put myself out there and be willing to go with his ideas as he worked.

The shoot itself was a remarkable experience, it was nervous, exciting, challenging and strangely cathartic. I find looking at the photos a little bit scary but I have to say that the end results were astounding. So I thought I’d share some of my favourites with you, I’d love to know what you think of them!

At the heart of these photos is the idea that to be full present in the world we need to be completely in touch with the spirit that drives us, to have the courage to express ourselves with authenticity and conviction. Only then can you truly connect meaningfully with the world around you.

I’ve set up a page on my website where you can check out some of my favourites here.

BTW, another good friend of mine has just finished the cover art for The Pathfinder and I’ll be able to share that with you in my next post!
